From tabletop to video games, from classic arcade games to roleplaying games, to unreleased soon-to-be favorites, Emerald City Comicon’s Gaming area has it all! Spend some time on Level 2 of the WSCC and explore a wide range of gaming goodness, and stay late into the evening, long after the main show floor and panels have ended for the day. Come out and play some games!

Tabletop Freeplay/Lending Library/Space Goat Productions

WSCC 204/205 – Want to try out a new board game, or play an old favorite? Come to the ECCC Game Lending Library, browse our shelves, and grab an open table. The Library is available to all show attendees free of charge (photo ID required to check out games). Also visit Gaming sponsor Space Goat Productions and check out their latest games!

Living Computers: Museum + Labs

WSCC 212 – Living Computers: Museum + Labs provides a one-of-a-kind, hands-on experience with computer technology from the 1960s to the present. LCM+L honors the history of computing with the world’s largest collection of fully restored—and usable—supercomputers, mainframes, minicomputers and microcomputers. A new main gallery offers direct experiences with robotics, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, big data, the Internet of Things, video-game making, and digital art.

Play-and-Win Games

WSCC Level 2, G243-G246 – ECCC is proud to present the Play-and-Win program, where game publishers provide our show with copies of some of their newest titles, for you to win! Each player (and teacher!) gets a raffle ticket for a chance to win the games they demo. Drawings held Friday at 9:00PM, and again Sunday at 3:00PM. Games donated by Double Exposure Envoy, Stonemaier Games, Liminal Games, Go 2 Games, and many more.

Unpublished Board Game Playtesting

WSCC Level 2, G233 – PlaytestNW is once again bringing its Unpublished Board Game program to ECCC, giving you a sneak peek into the design and development of next year’s most exciting board games – today! Come play unreleased games, and help their creators improve and refine their games throughout the show.

ECCC Indie Games Showcase

WSCC Level 2, G205-G210 – ECCC is thrilled to again bring you demos of some of the best new and soon-to-be-released video, mobile, board, card and roleplaying games from Pacific Northwest game designers. Demos will rotate every three hours all show long, so visit often to try them all out!

Gaming After Dark

[7PM-12AM THU, FRI and SAT] Age: 18+ – The ECCC Gaming After Dark room is where to go to try out games with more risqué content. Yes, this is where you can go to play Cards Against Humanity, Red Flags, and Exploding Kittens NSFW—but there will be other novel, innovative adult-themed games to try too! (Valid Photo ID required)

Social Deduction Gaming

[7PM-12AM THU, FRI and SAT] – Do you have what it takes to figure out who's telling the truth, and who is eyeing you up as their next meal?  Show off your ability to bluff, or your ability to identify a liar in our menu of social deduction party games! Sponsored by Bezier Games and Indie Boards & Cards, come bring your friends with you to the Social Deduction Room, featuring Ultimate Werewolf, One Night Ultimate Werewolf, The Resistance, One Night Revolution, Coup and more, all featured as Play-and-Win games.

Pinball and Arcade Games

WSCC 211 – Emerald City Comicon in conjunction with the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show is pleased to bring you the classic arcade at ECCC 2017.  The arcade will be available from opening time until 10:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and until 4:30 pm on Sunday. Full size arcade games and pinball machines will be set to free-play and are available to all ECCC attendees. This is your chance to play some of the best games ever made which range from 1980s classics to the most recent games!

If you enjoy the arcade, check out the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show on June 9th through 11th at the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center. The show is a volunteer-run nonprofit event which will have hundreds of games on free-play along with seminars, tournaments, artists, prizes and more.  For more information, check out their website at

Classic RPGs

WSCC 209 – GMs will be on hand to introduce you to some of the greatest roleplaying games of the past 40 years. Sign up for a Shadowrun session, see if you can outwit Friend Computer in Paranoia, or have the arcane ways of THAC0 explained. A full library of source books will be available to peruse and use.

Story Games

WSCC 208 – Come play story games! Build a world or epic drama together… and then watch it burn. Try games like Fiasco, Microscope, Downfall and Fall of Magic. Never played a story game before? No problem! We have skilled facilitators on-hand to show you how. Everyone is welcome. No experience necessary.

Dungeons & Dragons

WSCC Level 3, North Lobby – ECCC will once again have WOTC’s D&D Adventurers League. We will be located on the Third Floor, in the 3AB Lobby. We have pre-made characters available for you and DMs waiting to take you through the five Introduction Adventures. We also have the Convention Exclusive Multi-Table Epic Adventures: The Iron Baron (Friday) and Ark of the Mountains (Saturday).

DDAL5-01 Treasure of the Broken Hoard (Sessions run continuously all show)

A famous relic hunter seeks adventurers to help her find caches of treasure hidden by the now-defeated followers of the Cult of the Dragon. Her maps and notes may lead the way to great wealth—or a terrible death. And do other parties have designs on the treasure as well? Designer: Shawn Merwin. Characters of Level 1-2. Playtime: 5 Mini Mission approx. 1 ½ hours each.

DDEP05-01 The Iron Baron (Friday, March 3, 6:00pm-10:00pm)

Deep in the Greypeak Mountains the fire giant warlord Baron Ugarak has enslaved hundreds of small folk to toil in his iron mines furiously extracting elementally infused ore for an as yet unknown purpose. Surrounded by a monstrous army and decidedly shady allies, the Baron poses a dire threat to the goodly folk of the north. Designer: Bill Benham. Characters of Level 1-4 & 5-10. Playtime: 4 hours

DDEP05-02 Ark of the Mountains (Saturday, March 4, 6:00pm-10:00pm)

The flying galleon Thunderbound descends on Beregost, unleashing the wrath of the cloud giants! To save the town from annihilation, heroes from far and wide must awaken the lost machine entombed under Durlag’s Tower. Dare you board the Ark of the Mountains and do battle in the burning skies? Designer: Will Doyle. Characters of Level 1-4, 5-10, & 11-16. Playtime: 4 hours

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game & Adventure Card Game

WSCC 213 – Come participate in the Pathfinder Society activities! Take part in a demonstration of either the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game (RPG) or Pathfinder Adventure Card Game (ACG). Delve into a full event using either system. Our HQ Desk will assist you by providing information, arranging a demo, and signing up participants for events. Stop by today!
